Combating Food Insecurity in Pakistan 🇵🇰 - Pictures of our Recent Food Rations 🍱 Distribution

Dear HOPE Friends,

For the past several years, HOPE has been diligently working to combat the challenges 🧗🏾‍♂️created by Food Insecurity🥘 in Pakistan 🇵🇰. A whopping 20% of the general population of Pakistan 🇵🇰 faces hunger 🚫 on a daily basis. This has resulted in 40 million people (out of a population of 220 million total) who are not getting enough nutrients 🍊. In fact, Pakistan 🇵🇰 has twice the rate 📈 of malnourished people 🤒 than other countries worldwide 🌍.

40% of children 🧒🏻under the age of 5 in Pakistan 🇵🇰 are stunted according to the UN World Food Program, and of those, 11% are severely malnourished 🤒. Growth stunting due to malnourishment/undernourishment affects as many as 50% of Pakistan's children 🧒🏻.

You may partake in this fight against hunger 🤒with us by sponsoring a month 📆 of Food Rations 🍱 for a Family of 8 for just $33. This is a Zakat-Eligible project and we are honored to report that this movement was initiated from a suggestion by one of our long-standing private supporters 💕.

Our Food Rations consist of a month's supply of Rice 🍚, Wheat Flour 🍞(to make tortillas), Lentils 🍲, Cooking Oil 🧈, Milk Powder 🥛, Tea ☕, Sugar 🧁, Salt 🧂, and Biscuits 🍪 - enough for a family of 8.

The pictures below are from our recent distribution in an area on the outskirts of Karachi, Pakistan 🇵🇰 known by the residents there as Kachra Kundi. Sadly, as the name implies, this area is a landfill 🗑️ and families 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 who live there subsist by sifting through the waste and searching for metals to recycle ♻️ and earn a tiny income.

Many thanks 🌹 for your participation in this noble endeavor!

Warm regards,

The HOPE UK 🇬🇧 🇵🇰, HOPE USA 🇺🇸 🇵🇰, and HOPE Pakistan 🇵🇰 Teams
